Learn about the computer technology requirements
for the certificate courses.
Our courses utilize several types of software; orientation
is the time to make sure that you are prepared for the class.
The following components need to be on your computer. If they
are not already installed, follow the links provided to download
them to your computer. All of the downloads are free, some
of the manufacturers offer upgraded versions that will cost
money, but you do not need them for this class.
Hardware Requirements
Basic requirements have been kept to a minimum. If your system
meets the following specifications you should be able to participate
in all the class activities.

Course Software Requirements
CNM assignments require the following software:
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Real Player
- Microsoft Excel (for Financial Management course only)
- Macromedia Flash
Adobe Reader - a PDF (Portable Document
Format) viewer that is used to for lectures, case studies
and some readings. Download: www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
NOTE: To shorten the download, make sure that the box asking
to download the free "Photoshop Album" is not checked.
Real Player - is used to watch the video
presentations. To download this player, click here
and follow these steps:
1. Choose the Basic Player by clicking on the link entitled
"Get RealPlayer- Free."
2. Begin the download by clicking on the blue button entitled
"Start RealPlayer Download."
3. Follow the prompts to complete the download.
Powerpoint is also used in some courses.
If you do not have a copy, you may view the PDF files with
the Acrobat Reader.
Macromedia Flash is used for audio, video
and animated presentations. Click
