Tapia Lopez is a first year student in the Masters
in Urban Planning and Policy (MUPP) program in the UIC
College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs, specializing
in physical planning. After receiving her undergraduate
degree in political science from Loyola University Chicago,
she worked to promote economic education for students
throughout Chicago. Emily has worked for numerous non
profits, the city and federal government, and the Center
for Urban Research and Learning (CURL) at Loyola. At the
UICNI, she is currently working on a pilot project of
"Preserving Latino Urban Leaders" to establish
an archive of significant community leaders in Chicago.
