Project Description
This program was a part of UIC's Midwest Latino Health Research, Training and Policy Center for Medical Treatment Effectiveness Program (MEDTEP). Through collaboration with the UIC Neighborhoods Initiative, MEDTEP sponsored community workshops and trainings to provide Hispanic residents of Pilsen with increased information on health and health care issues. The Health Education program sought to increase participation in the health care system among Pilsen residents and their families, and to spread awareness of the many social, cultural, political and environmental factors that impact health and well-being.
