Program Description
UICNI Division of Community Health School Health Centers provide primary healthcare, acute and chronic illness management, nutritional, and health education services to students and families of community schools. Although separately managed, federally funded Health Centers are organized as satellites of Mile Square Health Center.

The Scope of medical services offered at these centers include:
-Referral for Emergency Treatment
-Routine school and sports physical examinations -Immunizations
-Medically prescribed lab tests
-Examination, diagnosis, and treatment of complaints of pain or illness being identified by the student -Ongoing care of existing medical conditions -Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases
-Pregnancy testing, prenatal and postpartum examinations
-Anticipatory guidance for students and primary caretakers
-Health Education and Promotion
-Nutritional counseling and weight reduction programs

The Community Health School Health Center sites are:

-Young Women’s Leadership Charter School/John B. Drake School (2641 S. Calumet Ave. Chicago, Illinois 60616 / 2722 S. King Dr. Chicago, Illinois 60616)
