UIC Neighborhoods Initiative Partners Council The UIC Neighborhoods Initiative supports two Partners Councils that provide opportunities for university and community scholars, staff and community organizations to come together periodically to discuss issues of mutual concern. In these forums, community and university partners work together to develop goals, conceive or review programs, and discuss milestones in implementation, evaluation and dissemination of best practices for university/community collaborative efforts. The UICNI Partner s Councils are key to sustaining the relationships among partners in that they provide a consistent, comfortable venue for problem solving, cementing new partnerships, critiquing ailing partnerships and celebrating successes. Using a balanced agenda format that provide time for all partners to contribute, the UICNI Partners Councils meet every 6 weeks. Council meetings are co-facilitated by a university and community chairperson. UICNI
