IRRPP Grant Support Program
The mission of the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy (IRRPP) is to promote, coordinate, and conduct innovative research at the intersection of race, ethnicity, and public policy. One of the central aims of the programs and services of IRRPP is to increase the quantity, quality, and relevance of research produced by UIC faculty on racial and ethnic groups that face persistent inequities, inequalities, and disparities. Among these services is the new Grant Support Program, led by the Associate Director for Research (ADR), which includes pre-award and post-award grant support.
Pre-award Support includes:

Performing searches and compiling profiles of public and private grants opportunities,

Providing technical assistance to faculty members from the beginning of the grant-application process through to submission or resubmission, including:

preparation of budgets and budget narratives,
-
acquiring necessary approvals and signatures,
-
liaising with the Office of Research Services
-
guiding faculty members through the online application process, and
-
advising faculty members on ways to improve application both content and framing.
Post-award Support includes:

Performing accounting-related responsibilities, such as:
-
establishing grants accounts,
-
processing expenditure paperwork,
-
monitoring budgets,
-
producing financial reports, and
-
overseeing grants closedown in collaboration with the Office of Grants and Contracts.

Assisting with adjustments and communications, such as:
-
grant re-budgeting,
-
no-cost extensions,
-
Just-In-Time processing, and
-
supplement/continuations requests.
