November 9, 2009
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

This critically acclaimed documentary tells the story of how a rediscovered 1950s silent film leads to the return of a long-lost brother to his Navajo family, the members of whom are threatened by mondern day uranium mining practices. The film shows the connections between personal stories, filmmaking, and activism, and is a must see for those interested in Native American studies, social justice activism, oral history, film and media studies, and environmental issues. Director Jeff Spitz will be present for a post-film Q&A. Seats are limited, so please RSVP by Thursday, November 5, 2009 to irrpp@uic.edu.
