Contemporary Community Curriculum: The Culture of Art Education
 
Presenter: Olivia Gude
Assistant Professor, UIC College of Architecture and the Arts
 
Professor Gude will discuss the emerging paradigm for curriculum design in art education and will showcase examples of projects designed by the 25 teachers who participated in the 2000 Contemporary Community Curriculum Workshops.
 
Olivia Gude is the Coordinator of Art Education and an Assistant Professor in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois Chicago.  She has worked in the field of community public art for 20 years and has created over 30 large scale mural and mosaic projects, working with inter-generational groups, teens, elders, and children.  She has published articles and book chapters on community art and art education.
