This is a reminder that there will be an added Brown Bag Seminar on Monday, April 9 from noon to 1:30 pm in the Great Cities Institute conference room.

Providing Access to Benefits for Welfare Reform s Disentitled: The Partnership between 26 Immigrant Community Based Organizations and the IDHS [Il. Dept. of Human Services].

The presentation will delve into the work of the cbo's, the response of immigrants, the ongoing challenge of developing good relations with IDHS staff, especially case workers and immigrant liaisons, and projections for the future.

Louise Cainkar
Dr. Cainkar is a Great Cities Institute Fellow whose research focuses on immigrant communities in Chicago and migrant communities in the Middle East.
