METROPRACTICUM
The idea for this ongoing discussion series came out of a desire to sustainand expand on the working relationships developed as Great Cities FacultyScholars during our years at the Institute. We plan to come togetherregularly over the summer and school year to explore topics that arefoundational to our research and have broader appeal to those working on urban issues. In doing so, we hope to:
* find commonalities in our work across multiple disciplines,
* challenge our most basic assumptions about the operation of urban
processes,
* reassess classics in urban theory based on contemporary understandings
ofurban politics and spatial practices, and
* move beyond the formal "academic presentation" mode to the hard work
ofopen and constructive dialogue.
We hope that you will join us to participate and shape this important series.
