| February 22, 2006 Richard J Daley Urban Forum The second annual Richard J. Daley Urban Forum will bring together leading scholars, commentators, public officials and policymakers to examine how globalization is affecting today?s cities, their residents and communities. The Forum will be held on April 4, 2006, at 8:30 a.m., at the University of Illinois at Chicago, in the Illinois Room, Student Center East. Panelists will examine globalization as it affects cities internally and alters how they relate with one another. They will discuss the economic, political, social, and cultural dimensions of globalization and propose specific actions for the leaders and ordinary citizens who are shaping and responding to this powerful source of change. They will also compare Chicago's experience of globalization with other cities. Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani will deliver the keynote address. Forum tickets cost $25 and include a continental breakfast, lunch and parking. All students and UIC faculty and staff will receive complimentary admission, but registration is required.
