Skosey receives UIAA award

On behalf of Dean Hambleton and the entire college of Urban Planning and Public Affairs, we congratulate Peter Skosey, MUPP '93, on becoming the 2007 recipient of the University of Illinois Alumni Association's Lou Liay Spirit Award for Extraordinary Alumni Service.

The award is bestowed upon one alum per year of the entire University of Illinois who has consistently demonstrated extraordinary loyalty, commitment, dedication and service to the UI Alumni Association for the betterment of the University of Illinois, and whose name and achievements have become synonymous with their Alma Mater.

Peter was one of the founders of the CUPPA alumni association and served as its president for six years.  He is that rare type of alum who not only contributed his own time, but got others to contribute
enthusiastically as well.  He was instrumental in the formation of key alumni programs and gave the board from the smallest college its footing to grow to its present size as the largest alumni board at UIC.

Peter will be recognized at this year's CUPPA Commencement on Saturday, May 12.

Congratulations and thank you Peter!

UIC ranks among the nation's top 50 universities in federal research funding and is Chicago's largest university with 25,000 students, 12,000 faculty and staff, 15 colleges and the state's major public
medical center. A hallmark of the campus is the Great Cities Commitment, through which UIC faculty, students and staff engage with community, corporate, foundation and government partners in hundreds of programs to improve the quality of life in metropolitan areas around the world.
