Join the Alumni Board - Annual Meeting and Board Election June 5

Would you like to network with other CUPPA alumni? Help your fellow alumni and current students? Gain professional skills? Have an impact on future educational objectives of the college?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, please consider joining the CUPPA Alumni Association Board and/or one of its committees. 

The goal of the CUPPA Alumni Association (CUPPA-AA) is to strengthen and enhance the professional and academic experience for alumni, students and faculty. The CUPPA Alumni Association offers educational and career development to alumni, students and faculty; organizes events/activities for the informal sharing/exchange of information and to encourage professional relationships; and lends support and provides input to the development of the college's curriculum.

The term for CUPPA-AA board members begins in June and ends the following June. Board members have the following responsibilities:
1) Attend each of the quarterly meetings,
2) Serve on a committee (Professional Development, Student and Alumni Connections, Membership and Marketing, or Special Event Planning),
3) Attend at least two planned alumni events (speakers series, holiday party, alumni appreciation award reception, social events)

The quarterly board meetings are typically held on a weeknight from 6-7:30pm in September, January, March and June. Most alumni events are held in the evening during the week, but a few are held on the weekends.

The board plans educational and/or social events, usually about four per year. These events include the Life-long Learning Day, the annual Alumni Holiday Party, the Spring Speakers Series and other event(s) that change each year depending on the interests of the board members. The board also assists in contacting alumni to speak to current students.

The annual elections for the board will be held on June 5, 2005 at 6pm at CUPPA Hall, room 110, 412 South Peoria Street, Chicago.  If you are interested in joining the board or would like more information about CUPPA-AA, please contact Jodi White Jones (jmwhite@uic.edu).  To have your name added to the board member nomination slate, please contact Jodi White Jones no later than May 23, 2007. The slate will be posted on our website and listserves and will be voted on by those present at the meeting on June 5.
