CUPPA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESENTS 'DEVIL IN THE WHITE
CITY' TOUR IN CHICAGO
Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012
10 am to 2 p.m.
$40 per person*
Join UIC CUPPA alumni for a private tour of sites referenced in "The Devil in the
White City," the Erik Larson best-selling book that recounts the murders and scandal
surrounding the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Daniel Burnham's grand vision
and H.H. Holmes' sinister plots come to life through tour stops in the Midway Plaisance
and Wooded Isle. A Chicago History Museum guide will accompany guests on the bus
tour, sharing a historical context with all attendees. No prior knowledge of the
Trolley Car & Bus Co. will provide mini-coach service, which will begin and end
at CUPPA Hall. A 12:45 p.m. lunch stop in Hyde Park at Valois Cafeteria,
known for regularly serving breakfast to President Obama, will allow participants
to eat and socialize. (Food not included in tour price.) www.valoisrestaurant.com
