Natalie M. Kenny MarquezNatalie M. Kenny Marquezbr
Management Analyst/Public Information Officer for the Village of Skokie, Illinois

Year of Graduation: 2005
Degree/Concentration: MPA in Public Management
Undergraduate Major: Double-major in Journalism/Advertising and Political Science

Natalie M. Kenny Marquez is the Management Analyst/Public Information Officer for the Village of Skokie, Illinois. As an undergraduate student at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU), Natalie studied journalism/advertising and political science - both fields in which she was very interested and hoped to someday combine into a career. Having worked as an Advertising Production Manager at SIU's student newspaper, the Daily Egyptian, Natalie took her management skills to the University of Illinois at Chicago where she pursued a Master of Public Administration degree, Chaired the Public Administration Student Association (PASA) and interned in the Village Manager's Office at the Village of Skokie. Natalie's internship experience combined with her studies at UIC helped her to secure the position of Management Analyst/Public Information Officer. "The position," notes Natalie, "is the perfect mix for me. It combines my passion for communications with my interest in local government management, public service and public administration." Natalie's duties include designing and co-editing the Village's award-winning resident newsletter, processing Freedom of Information requests and coordinating special events and commercial filming applications. Natalie also acts as the Staff Liaison to the Fine Arts Commission. Big projects in the works for Natalie include updating and redeveloping the Village's website, designing an Immigrant Services Directory and establishing a municipal emergency advisory radio station.
