Welcome to the e-Government online certificate program offered by the Department of Public Administration of the UIC College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs. This unique program provides an educational advantage to public administrators seeking the knowledge and understanding of how to apply new information technologies in a governmental context.

November 15, 2009 is the application deadline for spring semester. To earn the certificate, students must complete three of the five courses for a total of 12 credit hours. Depending on course scheduling and the number of courses for which a student chooses to register, the e-Government certificate program may be completed in as few as three semesters.

Is This Program Right For You?

  • Do you have a bachelor’s degree?
    The online e-Government certificate program from the University of Illinois at Chicago is a graduate-level program. Credits earned in the program could be transferred toward the fulfillment of the UIC Master of Public Administration degree program in Chicago.

  • Do you have a management background?
    This entirely online program provides an overview of the various technologies and their applications in government to manage the implementation of new technology for public services.

  • Do you have a technical background?
    By completing three of the five courses, you can tailor the program to fit your needs and gain the project management and policy knowledge to oversee e-Government initiatives.

The online e-Government certificate program is ideal for public administrators at the local, state or federal level who:
