The application requirements for non-degree admission, as listed below, are the same required materials for the degree seeking program. Due to limited availability of seats in MPA classes, opportunities for admission on non-degree status are quite limited as well. Any prospective student interested in applying for non-degree status is encouraged to discuss their interest with the Director of Graduate Studies or Assistant Director.
Non-degree students who have been accepted into the degree program will be able to transfer up to 12 credits (three courses) from courses in which grades of "A" and "B" were earned. Also, approval of transfer credits must take place within five years of completing the course. Once admitted as a degree seeking student, please see the PA Program Office to complete the necessary paperwork.

1. Application for Graduate Admission referencing curriculum code 20FS0339NDEG. You may download a paper application or submit an online application.
2. Application processing fee of $50 (checks only with your SSN on it payable to University of Illinois).
3. Official transcripts (sealed) from all institutions where you earned degrees and transcripts from all other colleges and universities attended within the last eight years.
4. Three letters of recommendation (sealed and signed) from former professors or supervisors
5. One or two-page personal statement. Your personal statement must state which courses you intend to take and why you feel non-degree admission would be beneficial to you
6. Resume
7. A sample of your written work no more than 8-10 pages double-spaced in length.
8. GRE scores - required for PhD level only.
