SIAM Intergovernmental News is an award-winning newsletter that reports on developments in the field, adds to improving management skills and practices, reviews publications, policies, and trends, and provides information and news about the section and its members. Features include the Washington Watch, State Scenes, and Tales from the Field.

State and Local Government Review is a journal of research and viewpoints on state, local, and intergovernmental issues. Published by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government of the University of Georgia, the Review since 1968 has acted as a forum for the exchange of ideas among practitioners and academics that contribute to the knowledge and practice of state and local government politics, policy, and management. Since 1993, the Review has been affiliated with SIAM and members receive three issues a year at a discounted price, which is included in the annual Section membership dues.

Awards for Distinguished Practitioners and Scholars (Donald Stone Awards) are presented each year to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the practice and study of intergovernmental management.

Award for the Best Student Paper is presented to a student who authors the best paper on intergovernmental administration or policy as nominated by an instructor.

Sponsorship of Panels, Roundtables, and Workshops at ASPA national and regional conferences. These sessions provide opportunities for SIAM members to gain additional education, information, and training relevant to intergovernmental, state, and local administration.
