Assistant to Associate Dean

Duties: Implement the designated administrative strategies for effective management of the operations of the College. Assist in formulation of management policies. Assist the Associate Dean in implementing day-to-day management of internal college-level activities, including general office administration. Act as a liaison between the Dean's office and business and support staff of the college, as required. Act as Chair the CUPPA Safety, Security, and Building Conditions Committee, and act as CUPPA liaison with Facilities Management and Facilities Information Management for specific projects. Represent the Associate Dean, as designated, at meetings with other administrative units of the University, including Academic Affairs, Access and Equity, Business Affairs, Development, Grants and Contracts, Human Resources, International Services, Facilities Management, VC for Research, etc. From time to time, represent CUPPA and the University in public service programs. Provide assistance to the Associate Dean on confidential and sensitive concerns, as requested. Coordinate special projects at the request of the Associate Dean. Supervise designated support staff, student and temporary employees. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred. Two years comparable work experience in office, business, or organizational environment. Good written and spoken communication skills. Knowledge of higher education administrative technology and systems preferred (purchasing, grant management, facilities, student affairs, HR, etc.). Bilingual (knowledge of a spoken language of minority students/community members served by the College) preferred, but not required.
