Job Description:
Global Insight's Global Trade and Transportation Practice monitors and forecasts the complex flow of goods around the world, to provide detailed information, expert analysis and forecasts on traffic within the United States to rail carriers, motor carriers, shipping lines, port operators and developers, and governments in the United States and internationally.

We are seeking an experienced trade and transportation economic Consultant. The selected candidate will work on projects related to air, truck, rail, and water transportation for clients in North America and across the globe. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Quantitative analysis, data collection, and economic modeling
- Advanced project/product support
- Composing technical memoranda, reports and presentations, and writing proposals
- Client support activities
- Business development activities
- 10% travel is expected; some international travel may be required.

Skills/Requirements:
- BA (Masters preferred) in a quantitative discipline
- Transportation/international trade experience and consulting experience
- Proficient using MS Access, SQL and/or SAS, and the Microsoft suite of software ­Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
- Experience working with GIS systems (ArcGIS and/or TransCAD)
- Preferred strong oral and written technical communication skills
- Attention to detail; good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
