Asset Management Analyst, National Equity Fund

The National Equity Fund, Inc. (NEF) is seeking an Asset Management Analyst for our New Markets Tax Credit investment portfolio of mixed use, office, retail, industrial properties, and community facilities. This individual will be responsible for addressing compliance, property and asset management issues during the underwriting, closing and disposition stage. Collect and review construction, marketing and leasing reports; conduct compliance reviews; do analysis of quarterly and annual operating results; undertake research projects; establish and maintain project files and databases; continually assess project and partnership risk factors as they pertain to compliance with Section 45 (NMTC) provisions, allocation agreement requirements and operating agreement conditions. Analyzing financial feasibility of investment proposals; and coordinating with other team members to review and analyze all transactional plans related to the long-term operating success of each investment. Duties also include establishing strong, productive working relationships with investors, project developers, lenders and other financial partners. This position is located in Chicago.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in real estate finance, economics, business, accounting or related field. Minimum three years experience in asset management, property management or real estate finance is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of commercial, mixed-use real estate operations, including market analysis, property management, marketing, leasing, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with financing covenants or regulatory agreements a plus. Applicant must also have keen analytical skills and proven ability to readily recognize, investigate, interpret and communicate warning signs of potential problems. This position requires the following traits and abilities: self-starter, creative problem solver, team oriented, and relationship builder, multi-task oriented, and willing to travel.
