Through
a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) we have created a five-course noncredit
certificate in management for Community Housing Development
Organizations (CHDO’s). The program is offered
in regional cohorts throughout the United States. For

Neighborhoods Initiative, Great Cities Institute
Prof Ed regularly partners with the UIC Neighborhoods
Initiative to provide training for community partners
throughout Chicago. Recently, we were able to offer
a beta launch of our Successful Program Planning and
Evaluation course for free to NI partners through a
New Directions grant from the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD).

Prof
Ed and ULI Chicago have teamed to provide Planning
Commissioner Online. This partnership brought
UIC faculty together with ULI development experts
to create a challenging curriculum for Planning Commissioners

Family Foundation
The Steans Family Foundation funded
a Community Cohort for their grantees. The cohort completed
the entire Online Certificate in Nonprofit Management
while also building relationships with one another in
order to further strengthen the community.
