ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Public Administration
Ranked second among public universities and eighth overall in a nationwide study of public administration and policy programs, the Department of Public Administration capitalizes on the strength and resources of the University of Illinois as a research I institution. Degrees/program tracks include a doctorate in public administration and a master's in public administration.
Urban Planning and Policy
The urban planning and policy (UPP) program is one of the largest graduate planning programs in the nation and the only accredited planning program in the Chicago area. The Department offers master's and doctoral. degrees in Urban Planning and Policy.
Urban and Public Affairs
After undergraduate students complete most of their general education and other liberal arts and sciences requirements, they can take an interdisciplinary curriculum offered jointly by the College or Urban Planning and Public Affairs' two academic departments: the Urban Planning and Policy Department and the Public Administration Department.
