Evaluation of Bethel New Life's Home Care Services ProgramProject
Number: 434 View
Year One Interim Evaluation in PDF format (48k) Bethel New Life requested that CUED conduct a three-year evaluation of its Home Care Services demonstration project, funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The goals of the demonstration are to provide up to 80 low-income women with opportunities to earn at least a living wage, helping them move on to increased career responsibilities with significant salary increases, and to help them overcome barriers that stand in the way of their becoming successful employees and entrepreneurs in the home care services field. CUED has designed an evaluation to capture lessons learned from the perspectives of project impact, project process and project cost. In the fall of 1997, CUED completed the first of three, year-end evaluation reports. Since it was still too early to assess project impacts, this first report focused on project process issues identified up to October 1997. In addition, during 1997, CUED completed interviews with potential employers of graduates of the Bethel training program and conducted participant focus groups. CUED also developed and maintained a database of all participants in this project.
