
With the generous support of the Rockefeller Foundation, the Center for Urban
Economic Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago is providing research,
data, and analysis on nonstandard and contingent work for the North
American Alliance for Fair Employment (NAFFE). A network of 54 organizations
throughout the U.S. and Canada, NAFFE is a leading advocate of improved pay
and working conditions for contingent workers. This website is intended as a
resource for researchers and organizations interested in contingent and nonstandard
employment arrangements such as short-term and part-time work, work through
temporary and staffing services, day labor, outsourcing, and independent contracting
