Master of Urban Planning and Policy

Applicants are considered on an individual basis. The successful applicant will have a baccalaureate from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of at least 3.00 (A = 4.00) for the final 60 semester hours of undergraduate study. Applicants must submit three letters of reference from instructors familiar with their academic training or supervisors familiar with their professional experience. International applicants must submit scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based).

PhD in Urban Planning and Policy

Applicants to the Ph.D. Program must hold a Masters in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or a related field. The successful applicant will have a baccalaureate from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of at least 3.00 (A = 4.00) for the final 60 semester hours of undergraduate study. Applicants must submit three letters of reference from instructors familiar with their academic training or supervisors familiar with their professional experience. Applicants are also required to submit Graduate Records Examination (GRE) general scores, or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores. International applicants must submit scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 600 (paper-based) or 250 (computer-based).

Masters of Arts in Real Estate (MRE)

Applicants for the MRE must have a baccalaureate degree with at least 4.00 (A = 5.00) for the final 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of undergraduate study. Applicants are required to submit GMAT or GRE scores from a test administered within 5 years of the requested date of entry. The writing assessment is required. A minimum TOEFL score of 585 (paper based) or 239 (computer-based) is required. Two letters of reference and a personal statement are also required.

Non-Degree

Non-degree admission is appropriate for individuals who would like to take a course or group of courses for professional reasons. Application for non-degree status is not recommended for persons outside this category, since only a small number of non-degree students will be admitted each academic year.
