Materials required for application

University Admission Policy: Bachelor's degree from accredited institution
Minimum Undergraduate GPA: 3.0 for final 60 semester hours
GRE: Required (no minimum or recommended score)
Minimum TOEFL: 550 paper-based; 213 computer-based; TOEFL ibt 80
Ranking in Undergraduate Class: Not Required
Departmental Requirement: Masters in Urban Planning, Public Policy or related field
3 Letters of recommendation
Statement of research interests (interest in the Distinguished Graduate Student award and/or UPP Scholar award should be included in your statement)
Writing sample
Resume

Online application and submission of credentials

Please check this page for all details pertaining to application requirements, submitting the online application and supplemental credentials. Please note that when you file the online application, there will be a 3-5 day delay before supplemental credentials can be uploaded. If the online application is filed by the deadline date, your application will be considered. Please submit all other credentials as soon as possible.

Submitting transcripts

UPP cannot accept physical or emailed documents.  All documents including transcripts must be uploaded using the application system.  Once you submit your online application, you will receive confirmation with 3-5 days with upload instructions.  Unofficial transcripts should be uploaded.  If you are admitted you will then be required to submit final official transcripts from each institution you attended.

Checking Application Status

Application materials submitted electronically and received before the deadline will not be acknowledged; the date and time of submission is contained in the email and it will be noted in your application file that the deadline was met. Financing your education

There are various options for financing your studies. Students are encouraged to explore both the CUPPA Distinguished Graduate Scholar (DGS) Award and the UPP Departmental Scholar Award, both of which provide four years of support. Students may also be supported by individual faculty on research grants.

Applicants for the PhD programs who wish to enroll in the GSAV certificate program should briefly indicate their intention in the personal statement required as part of the application process.
