What is your academic and work background? What did you do before enrolling in the MUPP program at UIC?
I completed my BS in Architecture at Philadelphia University, focusing on environmental sustainability and historic preservation.
What attracted you to planning and made you decide you
wanted to be a planner?
The opportunity to apply the concepts and skills I gained in undergrad on a broader scale, and to expand my spatial and social understanding of the urban environment.
Why did you want to study planning at UIC?
For its highly reputable program and urban location.
What are some of the highlights of your time as a student--classes, projects, internships, volunteer involvement?
The 505/506 course gave me a nice work sample to show employers. My internship gave me great hands-on experience using sustainable planning tools.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Somewhere without snow.
