Research Associate/Analyst, CTBA

The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability (CTBA) is seeking a research associate/analyst to research and analyze regional education funding, tax policy, budget policy, and economic policy issues.

The associate/analyst will be responsible for a mix of activities including, data collection and analysis, preparing presentations of findings, analyzing policy, research review, as well as assist in preparing white papers, fact sheets and presentations. The candidate will also provide information to public officials, advocates and the media (including press conferences and editorial board meetings) and work with legislators and in coalitions.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have strong quantitative skills, a basic knowledge of public finance and education funding, strong research, writing and editing skills, the ability to work with state and local leaders, elected public officials and coalitions. The position also requires working with spreadsheets and with large data sets. Applicants must demonstrate strong writing skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks, often on a time-sensitive basis. The candidate must be self-motivated. A master's degree in public policy, economics, statistics or a related field is preferred, although we will consider candidates with a bachelor's degree who have relevant work experience. The position requires travel, applicants must own a car.
