The African American Cultural Center

 

Naima Nguvu McDermott joins the AACC with 15 years experience in Non-Profit Administration. For nearly 5 years, Naima served as a Program Coordinator in the Arts Education Department of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ. While serving in this capacity Naima built and strengthened relationships with the communities and school districts in the Newark metropolitan area to ensure increased access to world-class arts programming. Most recently, Naima served for 4 years as the Monitoring Coordinator at the Mary Crane Center, a Head Start agency in Chicago.

Naima is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing, serves as a doula and has a strong interest in maternal - child health issues.
