Naima Nguvu McDermott joins the AACC with 15 years experience in Non-Profit Administration. For nearly 5 years, Naima served as a Program Coordinator in the Arts Education Department of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ. While serving in this capacity Naima built and strengthened relationships with the communities and school districts in the Newark metropolitan area to ensure increased access to world-class arts programming. Most recently, Naima served as the Monitoring Coordinator at the Mary Crane Center, a Head Start agency in the City of Chicago.
Naima is excited to join the AACC and looks forward to working in an exciting environment that joins the artistic, academic and cultural institutions of the region and provides enlightening and accessible programming to the communities that the African American Cultural Center serves.
