Instructional Technology Lab The mission
of the Instructional Technology Lab, or ITL, is to help UIC faculty and
staff make effective use of computer, Web-based and multimedia technologies
to enhance teaching and learning in traditional on-campus courses, as
well as in distance education. The
ITL runs a number of instructional systems, like Blackboard CourseInfo,
and serves as a test bed for new technology applications in computing
and education. Our goal is to make learning technologies as user-friendly as possible, and to help use these technologies to create engaging high-quality educational materials with sound pedagogy behind them. Help is available on a number of areas, including:
The Instructional
Technology Lab is located at 1940 West Taylor Street, in room 181 BGRC,
on the west campus. We can be reached by telephone at (312) 996-9824 and
via email at itl@uic.edu. The
ITL is available by appointment, and during ITL Open Hours, without an
appointment. Open Hours are held on Mondays and Thursdays, from 1 to 5pm. To make an
appointment, click on making reservations on the ITL home page. ACCC is in
the process of opening an ITL-East, on the 4th floor of CCC, in the back
of the 401 CCC computer lab. Check the ITL home page for details. We can also
meet faculty members at their offices for consultations which do not require
using any of the ITL special equipment and authoring software. |
