+ Step 1 UIC Email

Do you own a mailserv account? Check here.

In the "My Email" box at the top left:

  1. Click "Create Your UIC Email/Calendar Account"
  2. Select the LOGIN button.
  3. Login with your UIC netid and common password.
    • Look under Existing Accounts.
      • Does it say Mailserv? Great!
      • Close that tab and skip to Step 2 below

      • If not, look under New Accounts.
        • Does it say Mailserv?
        • Select Mailserv and click the "Create Account" button.
        • Does it say Success!? Great!
        • Close that tab and go to Step 2.

+ Step 2 Mailrouting

Where is your uic.edu email going? Let's check.

In the "My Email" box at the top left:

  1. Click "Email Forwarding"
  2. Login with your UIC netid and common password.
  3. Check or change your email forwarding.
  4. Close that tab and go to Step 3.

+ Step 3 Emergency Contact

Login to my.UIC.
  1. Click the "Academics" tab at the top.
  2. Click "Student Self-Service" on the right.
  3. Click Personal Information.
  4. Click Emergency Contact.
  5. Click New Contact.
  6. Create a new Emergency Contact.
  7. Close that tab and go to Step 4.

+ Step 4 Customize my.UIC

Login to my.UIC.

On the "Home" tab at the top:
  1. Click the little person next to "Home"
  2. Click "Add Content" at the top of a column
  3. On the left, click on "Academic Resources"
  4. There are 4 pages of feeds to look at. Find your college's RSS feed from the list.
  5. Click "Add Now" to add your college feed.
  6. Close all browser windows completely - or the next student can change YOUR email routing!


Be sure you completed ALL the steps!
Close all browser windows when you are done!
