Using the UIC LDAP White Pages | ||||||||

LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is an Internet protocol that email programs use to look up contact information from a server. LDAP directories are important to people who use Outlook for email; Outlook only supports search LDAP. They are neat to use with Mac OS Mail.app, where they work seamlessly. If you are already using Ph, you don't have to switch to LDAP. Note that we are currently limiting the number of results per query to 100 in order to discourage spammers trolling for email addresses. We may adjust this limit if it proves to be problematic. This service has been tested to date with Eudora 6 Windows and Mac, Mac Mail.app, Outlook XP/2002, Outlook 2000, Outlook Express 6, and Thunderbird, Penelope Eudora Version 8.0beta1, and Evolution 2.
