Changing to Your ISP's SMTP Server

Changing Your Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server (Macs)

   
 
     
Eudora 2.1 to 4.x
 
  1. Open Eudora.
  2. On the Eudora menu bar, select Special, then select Settings.
  3. In the Settings window, click the Hosts icon.
  4. Type the SMTP server name in the appropriate field.
 
     
Netscape 2.x and 3.x
 
  1. Open Netscape.
  2. On the Netscape menu bar, select Options, then select Mail and News Preferences.
  3. On the Servers tab, type the SMTP server name in the appropriate field.
 
     
Netscape 4.x
 
  1. Open Netscape.
  2. On the Netscape menu bar, select Edit, then select Preferences.
  3. Under Category: choose Mail & Newsgroups.
  4. Under Mail & Newsgroups choose Mail Servers.
  5. Type the SMTP server name in the appropriate field.
 
     
Outlook Express
 
  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. On the Outlook menu bar, select Edit, then select Preferences.
  3. Under Sending Mail - SMTP Server:, type the SMTP server name.
 
     
WebMail
 

WebMail runs on a machine on the UIC campus; it is not affected by this change.
