Setting Verizon Wireless Devices Up for ACCC Email

Important: mail.uic.edu is only used as the incoming email server with the ACCC account/personality that you deliver your netid@uic.edu email to.
If you don't have your netid@uic.edu email sent to an ACCC email account (mailserv, tigger, icarus), you cannot use mail.uic.edu.
If you have additional ACCC email accounts, you can read the email that comes to them only with pine or WebMail.

Go to the following website address:

Log in using your mobile phone number along with your password.
Once in click on the “SETUP” link at the right top corner, and select “ACCOUNT” from the drop menu.
Once under the “configure Account” section click the Internet/POP3/IMAP Email link under Configure Your Email Source.

IMPORTANT: if you have any account configured under Email Sources, delete it before proceeding.
Next, click to select the Retrieve My Email for Me option and click NEXT.
On the next window, click the Advanced Setup Options link and then SUBMIT.
On this window, fill in the following fields and click SUBMIT: Do not click Auto-detect Settings....
1. Email Address
2. Password
3. Username (first part of your e-mail address before the @ sign)
4. Email Server Address: mail.uic.edu
5. Type of server: POP (IMAP doesn't appear to work)
6. Check the box by: This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
7. Check the box by: Leave Messages on Server (You do not want your wireless copy to be your only copy. The ACCC does not support Leave Mail on Server in other circumstances.)
