UPDATE
Posted Dec 26, 2012 8:01 PM
The upgrade work on the ADSM-2 server is now complete, and it is available again for backups and restores.

A side benefit of this upgrade is that the ADSM-2 server is now capable of backing up Microsoft Windows 8 and Apple Mac OSX 10.8 "Mountain Lion", if you use the new Version 6.4 client program. (The ADSM-4 server was already capable of that.)

Thank you for your patience during the extended outage necessary for this upgrade.

If you experience a problem with this upgrade...

Please report service outages to Network Operations Center, 312-413-8080, option 2.

Starting on 12/22 @ noon, we will be begin upgrading our woozle/adsm-2 ADSM backup system from TSM v5.5 to TSM v6.2. This will involve about 2-3 days of downtime, during which there will be no backups and no restores available for clients serviced by this host. Users can determine if they will be affected by visiting the following URL and checking if their server number is listed as 2:

Members of the UIC Community,

ACCC, the Academic Computing and Communications Center, is UIC’s main Information Technology/Telecommunications provider.

ACCC’s Annual Surveys are our primary means of obtaining user-input upon which we base our decisions about what new services to start offering next year, and which current services we need to improve. In this - our third - Annual Survey, we will be asking survey participants questions such as whether or not they have needed computer support outside of the normal business hours when we provide such services currently.

The survey is open for every active member of the UIC Community to participate, and it will be available from November 14 to November 26, 2012. We know you are busy, so we have kept this survey short. It should take 5 – 7 minutes to complete. Your responses are completely anonymous.

Take our Annual Survey now.
