ACCC Database server down Friday, Dec 30
 

Dec 30 2005 - On Friday, December 30, our Gift Holiday, the ACCC's database server will be down all day, for a memory upgrade and also to update its operating system. This will affect a large variety of small things, such as password retrieval using your stored phrase.

 
     
Tigger down Wed evening, Dec 28
 

Dec 28 2005 - Tigger will be down on Wednesday evening, December 28, from 5 PM - 9 PM. We'll be working on its hard drives, including installing a new set of them.

 
     
UICalendar down for software upgrade
 

Dec 27 2005 - UICalendar is down for a software upgrade. We expect to have the server up no later than midnight tonight.

  
     
Icarus Down Friday (12/23) at 5pm
 

Dec 24 2005 - Icarus will be down briefly after 5pm tomorrow (12/23) to install an additional network card and configure an additional SCSI card.

Downtime is scheduled for 5pm to 6pm.

Those who use connect to Icarus, www2, or who have their email delivered to Icarus will be affected.

  
     
Blackboard downtime: Mon 12/19 - Wed 12/21
 

Dec 21 2005 - The Blackboard system will be down for maintenance, from Monday morning, 12/19, through Wednesday late night, 12/21. We will put the system back in production as soon as possible.

Nessie and Bluestem logins not working tonight
 

Dec 16 2005 - One of our database servers is having some problems, so we will have it down this evening from about 5PM to 7PM. Here is what will NOT work while it is down:

  • NESSIE
  • Changes to your Common Password, particularly password recovery using challenge-response
  • DNS changes
  • Anything that runs at uiuc.edu, uis.edu, or uillinois.edu where you use Bluestem to authenticate using netid@uic.edu. Bluestem authentication to facilities located at UIC should continue to work, that is, ones where you authetnicate using only your netid, not netid@uic.edu.
  • Several other less frequently used, or internal-only, ACCC utilities
If today is your payday, and you normally print your pay statement from NESSIE, you should plan to do that before 5:00PM.

UICALENDAR down for Maint Sun 4:30pm-midnight
 

Dec 12 2005 - UICalendar is down for maintenance Sun 12/11/05 4:30-midnight for a database consistency check.

  
     
Webmail problem Friday 4pm-
 

Dec 09 2005 - We are experiencing trouble with a back-end database server that holds the Webmail user preferences. We are working to restore the server asap. Webmail will not be available until the problem is repaired.
