College of Pharmacy

Jan 21 2008 - A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF PHARMACY

As a result of Saturday's fire, ALL CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES IN THE COLLEGE OF PHARMACY ARE CANCELED ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 22. Because the building is closed for safety reasons, we are in the process of trying to find alternative space for classes and lectures but it is highly probable classes and activities will be canceled for this entire week.

Please note:

In the case of Pharmacy Practice faculty who provide patient care, we ask that you continue to provide these services as scheduled. As most faculty who provide patient care have offices on the 3rd floor of CSB, there should be no disruption of pharmacy service to the hospital and clinics. If you provide patient care and your office is in the College of Pharmacy building, please notify Jan Engle (jengle@uic.edu) and she will work with you to find temporary space in CSB. Clerkship students are expected to be at their sites as scheduled unless they are on an academic rotation in the College of Pharmacy. A separate note will be sent out to the P4 students reiterating this fact.

Pharmacy residents and fellows (if on a clinical rotation) are expected to report to their clinical sites.

We will communicate updates and further decisions by email so please
continue to check for updates. Some of this information also is posted on the UIC Emergency Information and College of Pharmacy Web sites and the special information telephone line, (312) 413-9696.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through the issues
associated with the fire.

Sincerely,

Jerry Bauman
