Respondus
Respondus is a tool for creating and managing exams that can printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard. Exams can be created offline using a familiar program such as Microsoft Word and then uploaded to Blackboard through Respondus. Respondus is easy to use and is broken down into five simple steps:
- Start: Open or create a new file
- Edit: Import existing quiz questions or create quiz manually
- Settings: Select availability settings for Blackboard
- Preview and Publish: Preview your quiz and publish to your Blackboard course site
- Retrieval and Reports: Review reports from your quiz
StudyMate
StudyMate allows you to easily create ten Flash-based activities and games using three simple templates. The Flash activities can then be published directly to Blackboard or used locally. StudyMate can also import items from existing MS Word files and publisher test banks. The three template types are:
- No Answer: Fact Card and Fact Cards
- One Answer: Flash Cards, Pick a Letter, Matching, Fill in the Blank, Crosswords and Glossary
- Multiple Choice: Quiz and Challenge

Respondus and StudyMate are free to download for faculty and staff at the University. Please visit ACCC E-Sales at: http://e-sales.accc.uic.edu and run a search for Respondus. Once on the download page be sure to note all installation instructions, including the installation password, used for both Respondus and StudyMate.
