Blackboard CourseInfo is a Web-based integrated teaching and learning environment. It has been available at UIC since the May of 1999. Course site development and navigation is accomplished through a consistent and easy-to-use web browser user interface. Any instructor can request a course site for their class by clicking on the "Request a site" link on the left. Learn about Blackboard 6 Blackboard 6 is coming to UIC. Blackboard will be down beginning May 19th in order to migrate content over to the new system. To find out more about Blackboard 6 please visit the Blackboard 6 new feature guide. Sending E-mail through the system In
order to use the "Send E-mail" tool in Blackboard instructors
must verify that their students have their Blackboard account settings
adjusted properly. Students need to adjust their account settings so that
the messages are routed to a valid e-mail account. By default we set all
students Blackboard accounts to forward e-mail sent through the system
to their "@uic.edu" accounts. If your students have not yet
activated this account they can do so by visiting
the ACCC account creation tool. Student Enrollment into your site We perform batch enrollments of students into your Blackboard site based upon the call numbers that you submitted when you requested your site. The enrollments are performed 1 week prior to the beginning of the semester, and then twice per week for the first two weeks of the semester to capture all late registrants. If you are an instructor that has special enrollment needs, or if you have any questions about your roster being uploaded into your site please contact us at blackboard@uic.edu. Main
features Current Version: 5.5.1 Level 1 (upgraded from 5.0 on August 1, 2001) (previously running version 4.10 until December 12, 2000)
