FTPing your Impatica Files
There will be three files in the folder your Impatica presentation is saved in. One is the Impatica proprietary format file, the other is an html file (if you checked off to have one created, it's checked off by default) and the third is a Java file used for playing the presentation. You will need to upload these files to the web server.
Follow these steps to upload your content:
- This example uses WS_FTP for transferring files to the web server (i.e. tigger or icarus at UIC). WS_FTP is an ftp program that comes with the ACCC Network Services Kit.
- Before transferring files please make sure you have access to tigger or icarus. If you do not, please contact a CSO consult in the ACCC Public Labs or create an account.
- Please note: Impatica has the capabilities to upload files, but it is not recommended since it will only upload content to your personal web space.
- Ok, once you are connected to tigger or icarus, locate the Impatica files on your local computer.
- Please make sure you have all the files you want to upload listed.
- Next, you will need to locate the folder where the Impatica files will reside on the tigger. Possible locations are your own personal space, departmental web space, or class web space.
- Now, you are ready to upload your files. Select all the Impatica files that need uploading, to select multiple files hold down the Ctrl key and click on the individual file names.
- Lastly, with the files selected click -> button to start the uploading. Once the upload is done you should see your files listed on tigger.
