ITL Hardware and Software Resources

The ITL currently has seven networked computers, five Pentium PCs and two PowerMacs, connected to several peripheral devices, like color scanners, slide and video digitizers. All the machines have SCSI cards, Iomega Zip drives, Jaz drives, and 17" color monitors. Each computer is on its own 10 Megabit Ethernet segment with a direct connection to an ATM-attached Ethernet Switch.

The computers are configured as specialized stations, sometimes sharing peripheral equipment. They are all loaded with a good number of application software, depending on specialization. As a starting set, all the machines have installed, the Network Services Kit software and the latest versions of Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, Adobe Photoshop, Lotus Notes, FirstClass, Adobe Acrobat and Netscape Navigator Gold (configured with numerous helper apps and plug-ins).

Following is a detailed description of all of the ITL hardware, peripherals and software.
