ITL Virtual Conference

ITL Virtual Conference :: Monday - Friday, April 20 - 24

  • Afternoon 45-minute live sessions, starting at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm
  • Reviewing teaching and learning technology opportunities at UIC
  • An online conference for novice to tech-savvy faculty

Please mark your calendars to attend all/some of the presentations and meetings being planned for this Spring's ITL Virtual Conference, scheduled for the afternoons of Week 14 (April 20-24).

The conference will take place totally online, with live real-time sessions in the afternoons, and focused asynchronous discussions and social networking before, during and after the conference.  All presentations will be recorded for on-demand playback.  The ITL Virtual Conference has two main components:

  • Real-time (live) interactive 45-minute Webcast sessions
    Scheduled Monday through Friday, April 20-24, starting at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. (A Twitter channel named ITL and #ITL Twitter hash will be used for microblogging).
  • Asynchronous social networking environment
    We are using a customized Blackboard work site as a social networking platform for sharing ideas and information on any of the sessions' topics before, during and after the actual real-time sessions.  This site's discussion boards, blogs, wikis, Pronto instant messenger, Wimba Voice tools, etc. can be used by anyone to foster convenient asynchronous communication and collaboration.
  • Twitter: Even if you cannot make today's interactive live Webcasts at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, be sure to join the ITL Virtual Conference social networking site to participate asynchronously (see below).  Also, follow the ITL Virtual Conference and other ITL News on Twitter at www.twitter.com/itl and tweet your questions/comments to @itl.  The ITL Twitter (back-channel) hashtag is #ITL.
  • First Time Users: If you are not already enrolled into the ITL Virtual Conference, it is set-up for self-enrollment. After you log-in to Blackboard click on the "Courses" tab and search for "ITL Virtual Conference". On the right hand side there will be a button titled "Enroll". Click on the enroll button and you can access all aspects of the ITL Virtual Conference.

Access the social networking site and start collaborating!
