ACCC WebDisks - Group Webdisks ACCC Group WebDisks ACCC WebDisks provide an ideal solution for sharing files between groups of individuals at the university. Upon request, we will provide your department or group with 500MB of disk space for free. Management of the WebDisk is the responsibility of the group; at least one specified individual will be given the administrative privileges to manage the WebDisk. Departmental WebDisks In order to create an ACCC WebDisk for your department, we require that the head of the deparment authorize the request, as well as specify the individuals responsible for managing the WebDisk. Requesting a Group WebDisk Please send an email to itl@uic.edu to request your Group or Departmental WebDisk. If you are requesting a Group WebDisk, please let us know which department, organization, class, or group it is for, so that we can create the WebDisk in the correct folder for you. Accessing Your Group WebDisk Once your Group WebDisk has been created, it will be accessible in the folder structure located on the left-side navigation which appears after logging into the Blackboard Content System website (http://webdisks.uic.edu). You simply expand the branches by clicking on the folders to find the folder associated with your group or department. Users can also use a WebDAV client compatible with their operating system to view the content of the Group WebDisk. (Select the appropriate operating system support on our left-side navigation to learn more about this.) We will inform you of the exact location of your Group Webdisk once it has been created.
The managing user, who has been given administrative privileges of the Group WebDisk, will be responsible for adding and removing content, and creating and modifying permissions of folders and content. You can visit Sharing Files to learn more about this. Quota You can always check your available quota by logging into http://webdisks.uic.edu, navigating to your Group WebDisk, and viewing the "Available Quota" which appears below the toolbar.
