UNAS STATIONS CHANGES Coming Soon! |
|
We are
adding wireless service to all areas where we currently have UNAS Stations: SEL, CCC, BSB, LIB. To
make this possible, The procedures for authenticating when using UNAS
stations will be changing. Once the
deadline is reached, you will no longer use a web browser to authenticate and
will need to use Odyssey client software instead.. Windows users please
follow the steps below. Mac users will
need to upgrade to MacOS X 10.3 “Panther” to be able to use the UNAS Station
after date TBA. Windows users: STEP 1 Download the free Odyssey
client from: http://e-sales.accc.uic.edu or you can pick up a CD from
the ACCC’s Client Services Office in SEL 2267 (M-F 9am-5pm, 4pm on Wed) STEP 2 Prepare now by installing the Odyssey client. But, until the day of the change, you will
need to disable Odyssey to use the UNAS stations. Look
for the Odyssey Icon on the system tray (bottom right of
your screen), right click and select Disable STEP 3 After date TBA, you will need
to enable the Odyssey client by following the same instructions as in Step 2,
but this time selecting Enable Odyssey (if you are
not already using it with Wireless). When your laptop boots up the Odyssey
client will come up and ask you to authenticate. The UNAS stations will continue to allow you to access UIC's
network via wired and wireless connection. Future spots for laptop access will only have
wireless access. If you currently have a wireless card, you can use the Odyssey
client to connect to all of UIC's wireless access points, today! Check the UIC wireless webpage for wireless
access locations. FOR MORE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS AND
