Mobile Devices

ACCC offers ActiveSync capabilities with its Exchange Server 2003 configuration. This allows mobile devices that use ActiveSync technology to connect to and receive updates using PUSH technology.

Windows Mobile Devices (5.0 and greater)

Note: instructions may vary slightly be device
- Enter the E-mail setup program on your Windows Mobile device
- Enter your email address *your netid*@uic.edu
- Enter your password
- Select next
- Uncheck try to get e-mail settings automatically from the internet
- Click next
- Select Exchange Server from the drop down menu under Your e-mail provider
- Select next
- Select next
- Enter email address screen - click next if email address is filled in, otherwise enter your email address then click next
- For server address, enter: exchange.uic.edu
- Ensure This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection is checked
- Click next
- On the user information screen, enter:
- Username: your netid
- Password: your Exchange password
- Domain: ad.uic.edu
- Click next
- Select which data you wish to synchronize. You can also select a data type and change its individual settings by clicking the Settings button.
- When complete, select Finish.
- When you arrive to your Inbox, you may need to establish an initial Send & Receive to download your current mail and calendar.
