Reservations
Learning Environments & Technology Services provides provides equipment and service reservations both for UIC academic courses, and for special events. We have many types of equipment available for loan, please see below for the full listing. There is no charge for academic course-related equipment reservations. Charges do apply for special events. These charges will be discussed on an individual basis once the LETS staff receives your reservation request and follows up with you regarding the needs of the event. For both Special Event and Course Reservations, CFOAP information is required for UIC affiliates to make charges against (either for reservation costs, or for repair/replacement costs in the case of damage while the equipment is checked out).
Submitting Reservations

If you wish to request an Overhead Projector for the semester, please fill out this form instead.
Please be aware that we require 48-hour notice for equipment and service reservations. For late orders, please call our office and we will accommodate the request if possible. There is a late order charge for Special Event reservations.
Laptop Reservation
New for Spring Semester 2010, LETS has a limited quantity of both PC and Mac laptops available for reservation. The intention of this program is to allow for more faculty to be able to incorporate technology into their curriculum. Intended use locations include:
- Plug & Play classrooms that have a digital projector installed, and a connection for a laptop
- Use with a loaned portable digital projector from LETS in any non-multimedia classroom
For this first semester, until we determine usage patterns and demand, the following policies are in effect:
- Laptops are available for Courses only. There will be no availability for Special Events at this time.
- Laptops are available by prior Reservation only. Reservations must be submitted through our online form (linked above), and a valid CFOP must be provided. Last-minute pickups will not be available at this time.
- Laptops are available for pick-up only. Laptops will not be delivered to classrooms.
- Reservations of laptops are limited to a per-class basis. i.e. Reservation requests for more than one designated course will be rejected. For example, if you have a 10:00am course, and a 2:00pm course, you will need to submit two reservation requests, one for each class, as opposed to a single reservation for 10:00am to 3:00pm.
- For the time being, reservations of laptops are limited to use in classrooms that do not have installed PCs. Requests submitted for full multimedia rooms with PCs will be rejected, unless a valid reason is included in the Extra Details section of the reservation request.
- Reservations of laptops cannot extend past LETS office hours. Therefore, reservations must end by 7:00pm Mon-Thurs, and by 5:00pm on Fridays.
