This figure is an overview of today's ADN-ii. The FDDI backbone is shown in
blue; the numbers in the building outlines identify the subnets in that building
-- the third three-digit number in the Internet IP address. (See Now
That You're Wired.)
Note that the FDDI has a ring structure, and that, with the exception
of UICVM, tigger, and icarus, no hosts attach directly to the FDDI backbone.
This is desirable both for speed and increased security.
