Wanted -- FILELIST for UNIX

There's one thing that I really like about CMS that I've had to do without in UNIX -- FILELIST. Until now.

The new version of Pine came with pilot, a stand-alone version of Pine's file browser. Enter:

pilot
to display the directory list of your home directory, both directories and files. Use Tab or an arrow key to highlight a file or directory name, then type v or press Enter to view the contents of the file or to display the selected directory. The .. directory is the parent of the current directory; select it to move up in the directory tree.

Pilot has other options: type e to edit a file (with pico), c to copy, r to rename, or d to delete the selected (highlighted) file. But my favorite is l (the letter "l") for "launch." Type l and Pilot will ask you for the command you want to launch. Type a command (and a space to follow it) and then press Ctrl-x; Pilot will add the highlighted file's name to the end of the command. Press Enter to execute the completed command.
